Top Games to Play This March

Games

This March can be easily called “the month of re-releases.” A lot of last year’s games are coming out on next-gen consoles and Nintendo Switch, but there are very few major releases. Nevertheless, I’ve compiled a list of all the exciting upcoming projects for you, and if you see something missing, feel free to point it out in the comments below.

New Releases

Harvest Moon: One World (PS4, Switch)

Harvest-Moon_-One-World2

The ancestor of “farm simulators” released a new edition on March 2. The first Harvest Moon came out in 1996 and offered quite an unusual gameplay at that time. The character got an abandoned piece of land, which he needed to cultivate, build a house there, and engage in animal husbandry. Visiting many locations, making friends with neighbors, and starting a family will reappear in a new part with the subtitle One World.

The main plot is based on the loss of the powers of the fertility goddess from the world of Harvest Moon. Only the main character will be able to return her to the former greatness by working on his farm. Growing new crops will not work without selection. Depending on where the player sows the seeds, different fruits and vegetables will grow.

Balan Wonderworld (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch)

balan

Square Enix’s wild new platformer takes players to the Wonderworld. The main characters, Emma and Leo, are members of Balan’s troupe, which gives them the opportunity to experience the storylines of 12 fairy tales. To get out of there, they will have to find peace and quiet in their hearts – this is the main condition of the Wizard.

The heroes will need to try on about 80 costumes of other members of the troupe. These costumes will grant new powers and opportunities to their owners, which will help to solve riddles and move further along the storyline. Balan Wonderworld can be played together with a friend, so you can combine a variety of outfits and find even more secrets of the Wonderworld.

Monster Hunter Rise (Switch)

monster-hunter-rise

The great disaster happened 50 years ago, but monster hunters have no time to relax. A new monster threatens to plunge the world into chaos, which means that it’s time to take your three-meter swords, spear guns, and other unusual weapons to prevent another apocalypse. It will be possible to travel on horseback and climb vertical surfaces, which is an innovation in the series.

Monster Hunter Rise is unexpectedly a temporary Nintendo Switch exclusive. And I’m talking about the full-fledged part here, with new locations, monsters, and history. Why is this so? I don’t know. In a recent interview with the producer of the project, he confirmed that the game will also be released on PC in 2022.

Evil Genius 2: World Domination (PC)

It took almost 16 years before the sequel to Evil Genius saw the light of day. The strategy, where the player takes on the role of a villain and takes over the world, even today, looks like something new and exciting, and it’s very difficult to find analogs. Training your spies, countering the forces of law and order, dominating any continent, and creating more and more villainous plans – that’s what you have to do in Evil Genius 2.

Re-Editions

Apex: Legends (Switch)

The re-edition of the popular royal battle from EA and Respawn for the Nintendo family console couldn’t help but happen. A competitor in the form of Fortnite has been stealing users of this portable device for a long time. So they had no other choice. Feel free to buy and play Apex: Legends on Switch starting March 9.

Battle Brothers (Switch)

battle

A tactical RPG game about a gang of mercenaries will find its way to the Nintendo Switch on March 11. The player must move his warriors around the map, complete tasks in different regions, and pump his reputation. This will help you get rich faster and become famous. Each warrior in the party has its own class, perks, traits, and leveling tree and skills. The Switch edition will include all the parts that have been released so far and additional content in the form of orchestral soundtrack.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch)

We all have waited for the continuation of the adventures of Crash Bandicoot on new consoles. And finally, on March 12, it happened. 4K support and 60fps performance with enhanced visuals are just the icing on the cake. According to the developers, the game supports the functions of the new DualSense controller. The sound for the PlayStation 5 was also improved so that 3D audio is fully supported. If you already have a PlayStation 4 version and some progress on it, you will be able to transfer it to the next-generation console. How cool is that?

Arkham Horror: Mother’s Embrace (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch)

The Arkham Horror board game was based on the universe of the iconic writer Howard Lovecraft. Asmodee Digital decided to take the liberty and try to transfer the project from paper to three-dimensional space. The developers promise a non-linear detective story about mysterious murders. The unique spirit of Lovecraft’s works will also be preserved. But more importantly, the player’s decisions will be able to influence the minds of the heroes and the outcome of the investigation.
