Sun-Ken Rock
The artwork is perhaps the most powerful element of this manga. The backdrops are gorgeous, and the details take a lot of time and attention: the cars, watches, rings, costumes, and weapons look realistic and, without exaggeration, cool!
Characters and philosophy are closely related in this manga. Each character has its own story, motives, and philosophy, and the author doesn’t forget to reveal them.
There is a reason the word “comedy” stands in the genre field of this manga. Some excerpts made me laugh for a long time, and one almost brought me to hysteria. Of course, some may consider it “second-rate” humor or even worse, but I’ll take the liberty of assuming that there won’t be many of them.
The Climber
North Yokosuka High School has a new, unusual student, Mori Buntarō. On his first day, he prefers the building’s roof to its classrooms, where he’s bombarded with questions from all sides. So to get rid of annoying classmates who dashingly jump off the ledge down a rope, Mori does a crazy thing: he climbs up the roof on a pipe without any protection in a place where it is pretty tricky, even for a trained person!
“The Climber” is a serious, tough, and in some places, violent manga. It is striking with its realistic drawings, unique storytelling ( for example, time skips and mirror text), extraordinary imagery and allegory (female mantis, dinosaur, picture of a hanged man, etc.), and tragedy.
Dorohedoro
A man with a caiman’s head is weird? What if someone else is living inside that person? Even weirder? This is the world of mages and the world of the “hole” – a place that mages use as a proving ground for their tests, a place where the sky is saturated with magical trash, and once a year, the dead crawl out of their graves… But still, this manga isn’t grim, and it’s very interesting. So what’s next for us? Same old stuff and a little more madness. Because this is Dorohedoro!
Three Days of Happiness
This is the story of a guy who is short on money and suddenly discovers a store where he can sell the time of his life. Finally, after selling his years, in desperation, he comes to realize the value of life.
Human life is priceless. This phrase is used countless times in books, movies. We hear it from many people, whether we know them or not, but what if you were offered to sell your life?
This dramatic story is about people who answered yes to that question. About people who realized that they didn’t need to live it entirely and were better off taking as much of it as they could in the short time left over.
Tokyo Ghoul
The Ghoul race has existed since time immemorial, and its members are not opposed to humans; they even love them – mostly in their raw condition. They are strong, fast, and hardy, but they are rare, so they have strict rules about hunting and disguising and punish those who violate them or surrender
them to the fighters. People know about the ghouls in the age of science, but as they say, they are used to it. So the authorities do not consider the ogres a threat; moreover, they see them as the ideal basis for creating super-soldiers. Experiments have been going on for a long time…
The Promised Neverland
Emma and her friends led quite a happy orphan life at the foster home. Yes, there are strict rules, but the caretaker is kind. But why are the children not allowed to approach the gates and the fence? Is it worth it to learn the truth, which will ultimately turn their whole life upside down!
When the world presented to the viewer is driven into a vise of specific conditions and frameworks, the reader’s attention is focused not on the next step in the characters’ actions but on how they will achieve what they want. When reading such works, you lose all connection with reality and become fused with the story plot, with every part of your soul.
Gantz
Somewhere in Tokyo, in a huge building, there is a room with a black ball standing in the middle of it. Inside the ball is a human-like creature, and everyone calls him Ganz, but who he is and where he came from in this world are unknown. There is no way out of this room through the doors or windows; there is only one way out – to take up arms, put on a protective suit, and become the liberator of the Earth from the aliens. But how to get into this mysterious room? Very simple – you just have to die. However, who is behind all this, who distributes the weapons, who allows the dead people to return to the world of the living? And is it the world in which they lived before?
