New German Cinema: Volker Schlondorff

Volker Shlondorff is one of the brightest representatives of the New German Cinema along with such recognized masters as Werner Herzog, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, and Wim Wenders. On the international scale, Shlondorff is mostly known for his Academy Award picture, The Tin Drum, based on a cult novel by Gunter Grass. The other less known works by this director are frequently omitted by the critics, and today we are going to fix this issue.
