A Few Tips for Web Designers to Make the User Experience and Interface Even Better

First impressions last forever – this statement is especially true and important in the work of specialists responsible for the appearance of software products. For people who are not familiar with web design, it is about the outer shell of a website, program, and application. In practice, designers also work to improve the interaction of people with the interface. The ideal user experience consists of enjoying aesthetics and achieving the goals with which they came to the platform. Lack of sufficient quality of one or another component can negate all the work of specialists and lead to a decrease in website conversion and a damaged brand image.

How Designer’s Competence Affects the Final Result

Before moving on to practical advice for designers, it is necessary to determine what areas they are responsible for and what skills they need to do their job well.

In order to cover everything needed and satisfy all the demands of a modern audience, two branches appeared in web design, UX and UI. The UX designer takes part in the creation of the design using a fundamental approach, making every possible effort to ensure that, for example, the website is well-perceived by the user from a practical point of view.

To do this, they have a lot of work to do: the area of responsibility of a UX designer includes analyzing competitors and researching the target audience, designing possible scenarios for user interaction with the interface, and creating a design prototype.

The UI component, in turn, requires work by real creative minds. That is, to put in a beautiful wrapper the filling that UX designers have prepared. UI designers use more creativity and work with color, fonts, page composition, and more.

Very often, these two directions are combined, and one design specialist is designated as responsible. But, of course, creating a sophisticated yet user-friendly design is not an easy task. Designers are trying to predict what future users will like, but as they say, there is no limit to perfection.

What Can Be Improved in Your Design?

Today, design should serve not so much an aesthetic function as encouraging users to interact. To achieve high responsiveness, designers need to show their artistic vision and approach the creation of a design … in a logical manner.

Many designers try to stand out with their work, and for this, they use the layout of navigation elements that are unusual for users. The fact that you could place the menu where the user cannot quickly find it will most likely not benefit your website. Be creative but don’t overdo it.

The same goes for creativity when it comes to the color palette. Designers can and should experiment, but you should always remember that a brand may have a corporate theme and corporate identity associated with certain colors. So it might be a good idea to freshen up the colors, but not radically.

Make sure the icons and other elements on the website have the same visual style. At the same time, you can draw users’ attention to the most important elements by using more bold fonts. Also, make the call to action visible on the screen and highlight the tabs that users use the most.

Design is the first thing a user sees when they visit your website. They want an informative and aesthetically pleasing website where they can quickly find the information they need. If you manage to show originality, not to the detriment of the mentioned criteria, your work will surely resonate with users.
